Allie Garrett is CESA’s Scaling Up Solar Fellow working to develop tools and resources useful to states that have applied to the Environmental Protection Agency’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund $7 billion Solar for All Competition. Allie is a second-year Master of Environmental Management candidate at Yale School of the Environment. She studies energy policy and focuses on understanding the social and environmental impacts of the clean energy transition. Allie holds a B.S. in Sustainable Development from Appalachian State University, where she concentrated on community, regional and global development and focused geographically on Appalachia.

Before she arrived at Yale School of the Environment, Allie served as a policy associate on the climate and energy team at the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions at Duke University. At Duke, Allie managed stakeholder processes focused on energy insecurity in the US Southeast and vehicle electrification in South Carolina. Before Duke, Allie worked for several years in environmental philanthropy, managing portfolios focused on climate and clean energy, clean air and water, environmental justice, voting rights, and good governance.

Allie lives in Connecticut with her partner, Jesse, and their dog, Coco, who is definitely spoiled. On the weekend, you can find her baking, hiking, and eating good food.
