IPA oversees the electricity planning and procurement processes for residential and small commercial customers of Ameren and ComEd. The Prairie Island Indian Community is a sovereign Indian tribe, and as such has a government structure separate from both the state and federal governments. Tribal government gaming has allowed Prairie Island to reinvigorate the traditional Indian custom of sharing, contributing millions of dollars and support to surrounding communities and organizations year after year.
