Nate Hausman is a Project Director for the Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA), where he works on solar policy issues. Nate has managed CESA projects focused on reducing solar soft costs, planning solar development in locations that provide benefits to the grid, and helping states and municipalities ensure that distributed solar remains consumer friendly and benefits under-resourced communities. He authored CESA’s A Homeowner’s Guide to Solar Financing: Leases, Loans, and PPAs. In 2020, Nate was recognized as a “Rising Star” by Vermont Business Magazine. In 2018, Nate was selected for Renewable Energy World’s “Solar 40 Under 40” list, which recognizes solar energy professionals under the age of 40 who are “fearless challenging and changing traditional solar business models.” Nate sits on the board of several nonprofit organizations, including the Catamount Trail Association, Montpelier Alive, and the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund. Nate is an attorney licensed to practice in Vermont. He holds a J.D. with a certificate in Environmental & Natural Resources Law from Lewis & Clark Law School and a B.A. from Colorado College.
