Community Benefits Plans 101 (Slides)

On November 28, 2023, CESA and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) hosted a meeting for state energy agencies to learn more about writing an effective Community Benefits Plan (CBP), a required application component of all Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funding opportunity announcements (FOAs) and loan applications. At this meeting, DOE representatives provided states with an updated, more detailed presentation that walked attendees through each component of a CBP, discussed what makes a successful CBP from DOE’s perspective, and allowed time for states’ questions.
