Calculating the Potential Energy and Cost Savings of Clean Heating & Cooling Technologies

Thursday, April 9, 2020 @ 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM ET

The Clean Energy States Alliance and a regional team of state energy offices, utilities, and other partners are working on an energy and carbon savings calculator for clean heating and cooling technologies. This tool, still under development, presents a common, regional platform for homeowners to compare CH&C technologies against traditional heating fuels, including electric resistance.

In this webinar, hosted by the Yale Center for Business and Environment, panelists discussed the CH&C technologies covered by the tool, the different inputs and data sources used in the tool, and how these inputs feed the calculations used to generate the tool’s outputs. While the final, online tool is not yet published, the speakers walked through the tool’s framework and presented the outputs for a variety of scenarios in the three participating states (CT, MA, NY).

Speakers:

  • Val Stori, Project Director, CESA
  • Damon Lane, Technical & Modeling Lead, Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC)
  • Matt Miller, Sr. Project Manager, NYSERDA
