Connecticut’s New Energy Storage Solutions Program: How it Provides Benefits to Ratepayers, Participants and the Grid

Tuesday, March 1, 2022 @ 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM ET

Over the past three years, the Northeastern United States has been innovating on behind-the-meter battery storage deployment and incentive structures. Battery storage programs in states including New York, Massachusetts, and Vermont are producing new insights to increase deployment of battery storage resulting in benefits to participants, ratepayers, and society. This webinar explored the emergence of Connecticut with its Framework for an Equitable Modern Grid and the creation of Energy Storage Solutions, the largest battery storage incentive program of its kind in the country. Panelists went into detail on the public policy underpinnings and the use of conventional cost-effectiveness tests to design a replicable and scalable incentive program with resilience and Justice 40 as the priorities.

Webinar Panelists:

  • Josh Ryor – Director, Office of Utility Programs and Initiatives with the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority
  • Nicole Reed Fry – Director with Guidehouse
  • Tyler Olney – Managing Consultant with Guidehouse
  • Todd Olinsky-Paul (Co-Moderator) – Senior Project Director with the Clean Energy Group
  • Bryan Garcia (Co-Moderator) – President and CEO of the Connecticut Green Bank

Webinar Follow-Up Resources:
