The Role of Hydropower in State Clean Energy Policy

Tuesday, September 8, 2020 @ 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM ET

The Clean Energy States Alliance’s new report, The Role of Hydropower in State Clean Energy Policy, describes the treatment of hydropower in state clean energy policies and offers strategies for reducing barriers to hydropower’s development.

Join us on a one-hour webinar with report author, Val Stori and report contributor Jason Gifford from Sustainable Energy Advantage, LLC. Juliet Homer from PNNL will offer introductory remarks and provide information on PNNL and U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) hydropower programs and DOE’s upcoming U.S. Hydropower Market Report. Like the report, the webinar will address hydropower’s role in state RPS programs, its participation and opportunities in New England’s RPS markets, and pumped hydropower energy storage’s role in both RPS programs and state energy storage policies.

  • Juliet Homer, Senior Energy Research Engineer/Analyst, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL)
  • Jason Gifford, Senior Director, Sustainable Energy Advantage
  • Val Stori (Panelist & Moderator), Project Director, Clean Energy States Alliance
