The LA100 Study: Lessons for State 100% Clean Energy Planning

Wednesday, August 25, 2021 @ 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM ET

The Los Angeles 100% Renewable Energy Study (LA100) is one of the most detailed, rigorous studies to analyze pathways for achieving a carbon-free energy future. Its findings are presented through a visually appealing website, including an interactive data viewer. The study was produced through a partnership between the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).

In this Clean Energy States Alliance webinar, Jaquelin Cochran, the report’s lead author, described LA100’s methodology and findings. She gave special attention to the lessons learned about how to develop a 100% clean power plan and how to present it to stakeholders. She also introduced the recently announced LA100 Equity Strategies initiative, which will apply cutting-edge modeling and bring together environmental justice communities and other stakeholders to identify community-driven outcomes for achieving a just transition to 100% clean energy.
