Supporting the National Community Solar Partnership Plus (NCSP+)
The National Community Solar Partnership Plus (NCSP+) is a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) initiative that brings together key stakeholders to expand access to solar energy nationwide and build consumer confidence in solar. Through research, technical assistance, and collaboration, the program accelerates the deployment of community solar and distributed energy resources.
CESA supports NCSP+ by fostering collaboration, providing technical assistance, and producing resources on solar adoption and consumer protection. Drawing on its expertise in policy, program design, and implementation, CESA helps states and organizations work through challenges, share best practices, and develop innovative solutions.
Get Involved with NCSP+
NCSP+ partners gain knowledge, tools, and connections to expand solar access and build consumer confidence in solar. NCSP+ partners receive exclusive access to a suite of resources, including:
- Technical Assistance: Tailored support from industry experts to address challenges in implementing solar projects and programs through one-on-one or group settings.
- Networking: Opportunities to connect with other partners engaged in distributed solar initiatives across the country and participate in peer-networking groups.
- Events & Opportunities: Information on key distributed solar events, technical webinars, and recognition programs, as well as shared funding and collaboration opportunities.
- Resources: A curated, regularly updated database of case studies, toolkits, research papers, analysis tools, and more.
- Knowledge Sharing: A platform to exchange experiences, ask questions, and share insights about distributed solar with a network of engaged stakeholders.

Expanding Beyond Community Solar
Community solar enables individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and other groups to benefit from a shared solar project without installing panels on their roofs. This approach is particularly beneficial for low- and moderate-income households, renters, and others who can’t put solar on their property.
In 2024, NCSP expanded into NCSP+ to include additional technologies such as solar+storage, microgrids, and virtual power plants.
NCSP+ Consumer Protections Hub
As distributed solar markets continue to grow and evolve, consumers, governments, industry, and other stakeholders are navigating a wide range of questions related to sales, marketing, financing, contracts, subscriptions, disclosures, consumer education, and other emerging topics. The NCSP+ Consumer Protections Hub brings together expertise, information, and practical resources on these topics. CESA supports the NCSP+ Consumer Protections Hub, where stakeholders can connect, share what they're seeing in the market, identify emerging challenges, learn from peers, and help shape research and resources that build consumer confidence in solar.
