Sam Schacht

Sam Schacht is a CESA Project Director, leading the Offshore Wind Accelerator and Member Services. He is passionate about making clean energy affordable, accessible, and beneficial to everyone, especially disadvantaged and under-invested communities. At CESA, Sam is interested in how community engagement efforts can improve clean energy project development. Previously, Sam worked at Groundswell, a solar developer based in Washington, DC, where he managed subscriber engagement and support for Groundswell's community solar projects and the DC Department of Energy and Environment's Solar for All program. He worked with a wide range of government offices, community-based organizations, and individuals committed to equitable clean power. He holds a bachelor's degree in History from the University of Rochester, with minors in Sustainability, Anthropology, and German. Outside of work, Sam loves reading, hiking, and all things soccer. He supports Arsenal in the English Premier League.
