Support Clean Energy Progress

States are the driving force behind clean energy progress in the US.

The Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA) is a bipartisan nonprofit organization working to support state leadership in clean energy across the country. CESA members—mostly state agencies—include many of the most innovative, successful, and influential public funders of clean energy initiatives in the country.

Clean energy has made remarkable strides over the past decade, and with your support, we can withstand attacks and preserve the momentum.

  • CESA nurtured and built a unique nationwide network of all 54 non-Tribal Solar for All grantees awarded $7 billion in EPA funds for low-income solar; CESA has supported them with direct recommendations, legal and policy analysis, intelligence sharing, and weekly working groups even after the EPA sought to terminate the grants.
  • Based on an Offshore Wind and Equity National Workshop and collaborative process with states and community-based organizations, CESA produced clear recommendations for how to implement offshore wind so that it advances energy equity and involves active community participation.
  • Twelve states have established procurement goals for energy storage – one of the most important clean energy enabling technologies – and CESA’s energy storage policy working group facilitates their progress.

CESA is funded by its members, foundations, federal contracts, and donations from individuals. We need your help to expand state efforts to advance markets, to improve access to clean energy technologies in disadvantaged communities, and to promote a just transition to a clean energy future.

Will you help us to sustain clean energy growth across the country?

The Clean Energy States Alliance is a 501(c)(3) organization (EIN 27-0029803) and your contribution is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Thank you for your support!

Here is some feedback about CESA’s work with states:

“I'm just going to say that your clear guidance on this matter basically saved our application from likely being outright rejected.”

“Your efforts helped our state energy office advocate for the maximum amount of funds for low-income state residents.”

“With a relatively small team, you all are immensely collaborative, creative and offering great impact to states and the wider field.”

Donor Advised Funds

A donor advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support your favorite causes.

If you have a donor advised fund, DAF Direct enables you to recommend grants to the Clean Energy States Alliance directly from your DAF (as long as your DAF’s sponsoring organization is participating).

Use the DAF Direct form at the right to make a donation.
