Joy Yakie joined CESA as a Research Associate to support ongoing research on CESA membership and the role of state energy agencies and community-based organizations as it concerns adopting solar and other forms of renewable energy. Before working at CESA, Joy was the Climate Justice Fellow at the Office of Climate and Energy in Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE). As a Climate Justice Fellow, Joy supported the Climate Justice Braintrust to weave in justice and equity for the MI Healthy Climate Plan. She holds an M.S. in Environmental Justice and Conservation Ecology from the University of Michigan, and a B.S. in Environmental Science and Biology from Lincoln University in Pennsylvania.
